Egun on deneri, hey guys!
You may know that I started learning Basque in September (after 3 years lving in the Basque Country). Allthough I'm loving the Basque classes, I must admit that lately I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed by the task at hand. Basque is very difficult! Oso zaila da!
To combat these feelings, I'm trying to motivate myself by setting some manageable goals. The idea is to stop worrying about everything you don't know, and to focus on growing your knowledge little by little, to tackle the gargantuan task of learning a language, one manageable goal at a time.
My manageable goal at the moment is verbs
Learning the most common verbs in Basque is a great 'manageable goal' because it's both manageable and super useful. I know that these super common verbs are going to pop up everywhere, so they should help me understand more and feel less overwhelmed!
How do I memorise vocabulary?
I study these verbs using Quizlet, a website and application that provides memorisation games to help you study.
Click on the icons to access the Quizlet page for the corresponding vocabulary list. From there you can use the different games to study, my favourite game is "learn".
Click on the icon to the right to join the class "Euskara".

How do I study these lists?
I try to study the lists for 5-10 minutes per day. I find that studying small quantities frequently (10 minutes, every day) is far more effective than studying a lot infrequently (one hour, once a week).
Check out all the lists here.
I hope you enjoy studying with these lists! If you're a Basque speaker and you find any mistakes please let me know, Check ou Ikus arte!
